ProCure 2 - Post Curing System for Resin 3D Printed Parts.
Led the industrial design development for the next-generation resin curing device.
Discovery: Dental practices are switching to in-house 3D printing to treat patients to save cost and time. With new 3D printers, they can provide chairside service, from scanning the teeth to printing and having the parts ready for the patients while they are in the office. In our research, we discovered that the curing process is the bottleneck in the ecosystem of the chair-side service.
Current products in the market: We learned that the current curing products have two main failures. First is the need for more capacity to cure multiple dental prints in one cycle, eliminating time wasted waiting for each process to finish. The second group of devices with a large-capacity curing chamber cannot cure 3D-printed parts evenly, resulting in subpar quality.
Product solution: ProCure 2 can evenly cure up to twelve 3D-printed dental models. This is achieved with an innovative C-shape structure that holds LED lights on the top and bottom, scanning the elevated dental prints resting on the glass platform. This design can cure multiple 3D-printed parts in one pass and achieve the best quality of even surface finish.
