The Fluke Biomedical VT900 Gas Flow Analyzer is used by Medical Lab Technicians to test gas flow equipment such is Ventilators in hospitals.
As the Sr. Industrial Designer, I led the user research and design to learn how to improve the current Fluke VT-Plus product in the market. Initial feedback, current lab technicians prefer the all in one tester but want to have a smaller case for portability. Our main competitor does have a smaller footprint but in a modular form factor that can cumbersome to use. Through multiple design iteration with user feedback and team effort, the final product is 20 percent smaller in volume and a weight savings of 6.4lbs from 10lbs to 3.6lbs.
